Tato případová studie se zabývá vznikem a vývojem dvou postkomunistických subjektů odtržených od KSČM. Těmito stranami jsou SDL a LB. V práci jsou analyzovány příčiny jejich neúspěchu a zároveň popsána cesta k vzniku těchto stran při snahách o reformy KSČM, které probíhaly ve straně do roku 1993. Právě tento rok se v důsledku vývoje obou postkomunistických subjektů stal klíčovým. Práce ověřuje tři hypotézy vysvětlující neúspěch SDL i LB ve volbách 1996, kde obě strany dosáhly velmi špatného výsledku a následně se spojily do jednoho subjektu, SDS.This bachelor thesis deals with the formation and development of two postcommunist entities split from KSČM. These political parties are Party of the Democratic Left (SDL) and Left Block (LB). The paper analysed the causes of their failure and described the process of the formation of these parties with the efforts of reformations of KSCM, which took place in the party until 1993. This year became the major year as a result of post-communist development of both entities. The work validates three hypotheses explaining the failure of the SDL in the elections and LB in 1996, where both parties reached a very poor result and subsequently merged into one entity, SDS.
