Práce analyzuje prozaické dílo Ivana Matouška. Klíčovou roli v dílčích interpretacích má postava a její role ve významové výstavbě próz. Ve svém nahlížení na postavu a její funkci se opíráme především o teoretické práce Petra A. Bílka, Lubomíra Doležela, Bohumila Fořta, Daniely Hodrové, Tomáše Kubíčka a Shlomith Rimmonové-Kenanové. Východiskem pro interpretaci je vlastní text uměleckého díla. Tento soubor interpretací vede k vyložení Matouškových próz.This dissertation deals with the works of the contemporary Czech author Ivan Matoušek. As the key to the interpretation of Matoušek´s works, we chose the function of the character in the narrative, because it is the characters, who are determining for the semantic structure of his work. Studying the character and its function in the text we rely primarily on the theoretical works of Petr Bílek, Lubomír Doležel, Bohumil Fořt, Daniela Hodrová and Shlomith Rimmon-Kenan. The main aim of this thesis is to offer an overall view of Matoušek´s work.
