Ve své diplomové práci s názvem Strategie městského úřadu Vsetín k integraci cizinců se zabývám problematikou sociální integrace cizinců na lokální úrovni. Proces integrace cizinců do většinové společnosti probíhá v místě, kde se zdržují, a ovlivňuje celý život v lokalitě. Na lokálních aktérech integrace, jejich přístupu a uplatňovaném rámci integračních opatření závisí úspěšnost celého procesu. Z těchto důvodů jsem si položila otázku: ?Jakou roli v procesu integrace cizinců na svém území sehrává Městský úřad Vsetín?? Teoretická část práce definuje a charakterizuje pojmy vztahující se k tématu migrace a integrace a zasazuje zkoumanou problematiku do širších souvislostí. V další části práce je čtenář seznámen s metodologií provedeného výzkumu. Kvalitativní výzkum byl proveden prostřednictvím rozhovorů se zástupci vybraných aktérů procesu integrace cizinců ve městě a zaměřil se na oblast sociální integrace cizinců, přístupy a opatření lokální vlády k integraci cizinců a roli, kterou v procesu integrace na svém území sehrává městský úřad. Analýzou provedeného výzkumu byla zjištěna absence aktivit v procesu integrace cizinců ze strany městského úřadu, a také odhaleny další možné bariéry tohoto procesu na území města, které mohou být překážkou toho, abychom dokázali žít spolu a ne jen vedle sebe.In my diploma thesis I am dealing with the issue of social integration of foreigners on local basis. The process of foreigners? integration into the social majority influences the whole life in the area. The success of the process depends on the local agents of the integration, their approach and the framework of integration measures applied. I therefore asked the following question: ?What role does municipality in Vsetín play in the integration of foreigners in its territory?? The theoretical section of the thesis defines and describes the terms and concepts related to the topic of migration and integration and puts the issue into a broader context. The next chapter defines a method of the research. The qualitative research was conducted through interviews with the representatives of the agents in the process of foreigners? integration in the town. The research focused on these issues: the social integration of foreigners, the policies and measures implemented by the local government to integrate foreigners, and the role played by the municipality in the integration process in the territory. The analysis of these issues provided the following results: first of all, the absence of activities proceeded by the municipality to enable the immigrants their integration into the social majority was traced. Several other possible barriers to the process in the town were discovered, which can be a serious obstacle that we can live together and not just side by side.
