Práce se zabývá motivem dítěte v současnéma americkém hororu. Jádrem práce je analýza dětských postav v hororech: Šestý smysl(The Sixth Sense, 1999), Ti druzí (The Others, 2001), Kruh (The Ring, 2002) a Sirotek (Orphan, 2009). Metodologicky se práce opírá o koncepci neoformalistické filmové analýzy. Jednotlivé analýzy zkoumají postavy dětí v kontextu subžánru daného hororu a jeho stylistických prostředků. Cílem práce je popsat základní typy dětských postav v hororu, charakterizovat jejich specifické prvky a vymezit jejich funkce v rámci příběhu.This thesis is focused on the motif of child in contemporary American horror. The core of work is the analysis of child characters in films: The Sixth Sense (1999), The Others (2001), Ring (2002) and Orphan (2009). Methodologically the work is based on the concepts of neoformalism film theory. Particular analysis describe the child characters in the context of the horror subgenre and stylistic devices. The goal of this work is describe the basic types of child characters in horror, characterize their specific features and define their function within the story.
