Tato práce se zabývá rodinou, genderovým rozdělením prací a mateřstvím. V rodinných vztazích hrál vždy otec roli autority, byl jejím hlavním živitelem. Žena se měla starat o děti a domácnost a její hlavní role byla role matky. V práci poukazuji na fakt, že role otce i matky se v průběhu dějin vyvíjely, byly silně ovlivňovány společností a genderovými stereotypy. V poslední době si můžeme povšimnout snahy otců zapojit se do výchovy svých dětí. Tito ?noví otcové? nabourávají fakta, která byla doteď spojována pouze s matkou a mateřstvím.This work deals with the family, gender division of housework and motherhood. In family relations father always played the role of authority, was the main breadwinner. The woman should take care of children and the household and its main role was the role of mother. The paper points out that the role of father and mother developed in the course of history, were heavily influenced by society and gender stereotypes. Recently, we could have noticed the efforts to involve fathers in the upbringing of their children. These "new fathers" break down the facts that until now was only associated with the mother and motherhood.
