Cílem teoretické části práce bylo na základě studia české literatury shrnout teoretické východisko vybraných národnostních menšin žijících v České republice pro ukotvení empirické části. Práce je zaměřena na objasnění základních pojmů problematiky, dále se soustřeďuje na národnostní menšiny žijící v České republice se zaměřením na romskou menšinu. Práce popisuje současné problémy a vyhlídky v soužití majority s národnostními minoritami a dosavadní výzkumná šetření z této oblasti. Cílem empirické části bylo zjistit, jestli se liší sociální distance vybraného vzorku respondentů k vybraným národnostním menšinám žijícím v České republice u odborné a neodborné veřejnosti. Dále pak zjistit, jestli se liší průměrné hodnocení k vybraným národnostním menšinám u odborné a neodborné veřejnosti..The aim of the theoretical part of the work was on the basis of studying literature to summarize theoretical ground of chosen national minorities living in the Czech republic for the purpose of fixing the empirical part. The work is focused on clarification of the basic terms of the issue, furthermore concentrates on national minorities who live in the Czech republic turning attention to the Romany minority. The work describes current problems and prospects of coexistence of the majority with national minorities and existing research projects in this field. The main goal of the empiric part was to find out, if there is a difference in a perception between the expert and inexpert public in the area of social distance of selected sample of respondents to the selected minorities in the Czech republic.
