Tato diplomová práce se zabývá analýzou intenzifikátoru quite a jeho použití s adjektivy. Cílem je zjistit, jestli je možné určit význam intenzifikátoru quite pomocí českého překladu, jaká adjektiva modifikuje nejčastěji a zdali se používá častěji při stupňování adjektiva směrem nahoru jako ?reinforcer?, nebo při snižování míry vlastnosti adjektiva jako ?attenuator?. V teoretické části jsou popsány vlastnosti quite a vlastnosti adjektiv, které mají vliv na interpretaci quite. Praktická část zahrnuje výzkum adjektiv modifikováných intenzifikátorem quite v paralelním překladovém korpusu InterCorp, což umožní rozpoznat funkci quite podle přeložených ekvivalentů.This diploma thesis deals with the analysis of the intensifier quite modifying adjectives. The aim is to find out what type of adjectives quite modifies most frequently, whether it is possible to tell the meaning of quite through the Czech translation and whether quite works more frequently as a reinforcer or an attenuator. The theortical part concerns quite and its properties; plus it describes the properties of adjectives that influence the interpretation of quite. The practical part consists of the research and the analysis of the adjectives premodified by quite in InterCorp, which enables to see the function of quite via Czech translation.
