Loucký opat Šebestián Freytag z Čepiroh (1533 ? 1585) bezesporu patří k nejvýraznějším osobnostem potridentské katolické reformy na Moravě. Cílem bakalářské práce je především opětovné uvedení této postavy do širšího povědomí historické obce a vzbuzení obnoveného zájmu o jeho život a působení. V první úvodní části se autor pokouší stručně shrnout dosavadní bádání a prezentuje nejdůležitější prameny. Druhá obsáhlejší část je pokusem o Šebestiánovu biografii, důraz je kladen především na jeho činnost ve funkci opata v Louce u Znojma, protireformační aktivity, umělecký mecenát a sebeprezentaci a tzv. ?druhý život?.Sebastian (Šebestián) Freytag of Čepirohy (1533 ? 1585), one of the abbots of Louka Monastery, belongs undoubtedly among the most significant figures of the pro-Catholic reformation in Moravia ? in the period following the Trident Council. The primary aim of this dissertation is to raise professional historians´ awareness of this personality, and to provoke a revived interest in his life and influence. In the first part, the overview of existing research is provided, and the most important sources of information are presented by the author. The second part is an attempt to compile the biography of Sebastian, where the emphasis is put mainly on his activities performed while holding the post of an abbot at the monastery of Louka near the town of Znojmo; i. e. being an anti-reformation activist, a benefactor of arts, his self-presentation, and so-called ?second life?.
